As part of the Cimatics.06 AV Festival, De Pianofabriek is presenting an insight into the new world of audiovisual performance using the “state of the art” Pioneer DVJ deck. Masters of ceremony Exceeda (UK) will conduct the world premiere of the Belgian DVJ Scratch Orchestra after a week of intense creation.

With the new DVJ-decks PIONEER is keeping its ear to the grindstone in the world of high-tech audiovisual events. The DVJ-decks coax an ongoing trend with event-locations and performers to invest in a technology which is made for the future and the creation of inspiring and attractive visual sets.

Offering the same operation and layout as the CDJ-1000MK3, the DVJ-decks allow DJs to easily create and add visuals to their sets. The most important possibilities of the CDJ-1000MK are, improved with several groundbreaking innovations, to be found in the DVJ-decks, while DVD-visuals can be manipulated just like music: digital videoscratches, loops and ‘on the spot’ cues are possible.

Next to a multitude of other performers R&B dj’s like Daddy K and internationally renowned audio/visual artists like Coldcut and Hextatic have made great use of this new technology which they have helped develop themselves to control every aspect of a performance and make it into a true all encompassing spectacle. It truly is the next step when the DVJ-decks can find their way easily into an existing set-up, making them into a logical add-on for a high quality CD-deck and prepare it for a future in which visual artistry becomes a common good.

Organized by Cimatics & De Pianofabriek with the kind support of: Pioneer Pro DJ, Edirol, Vlaamse Gemeenschap, Vlaamse Gemeenschapscommissie & Gemeente Sint-Gillis - Vlaamse Aangelegenheden.
